How to use your washing machine in smart mode?*


1. Prepare the washing machine and set it to smart mode
In the evening you fill your washing machine with laundry and prepare it for washing. You set the switch position to MANUAL and choose the washing machine program.
When prepared you just set the switch to SMART mode and leave the control to Sunny IQ.
You can setup and monitor the appliances also at the Sunny IQ graphical screen on your PC.



2. Tell Sunny IQ when you need your laundry to be washed


At the Sunny IQ graphical user interface you can see that the washing machine is in SMART mode operation.

Now you choose the time when you want that the washing machine finishes its operation in the next day. In this example the laundry has to be washed by 17:00 pm.





3. Sunny IQ starts your washing machine automatically


Sunny IQ sets the washing machine into STAND-BY status. It will until the available solar electricity exceeds the demands. At 8:30 am the next day Sunny IQ starts the washing machine automatically.

What about if the day is rainy?


In cloudy days your PV plant might not be able to generate enough solar electricity throughout the day. In this case Sunny IQ will start the washing machine soon enough that you get your laundry washed anyway. The electricity will be taken from the grid, of course .

Sunny IQ has an integrated weater forecast from internet provider.

Gain control of your electricity costs


Sunny IQ will use appliances like eletrical water heaters, air conditioners, heat pumps and similar to store the exceeding solar electricity.

The operation of these appliances will be dynamically started and interrupted accordingly to their condition and the amount of available solar electricity.

Sunny IQ will store the exceeding solar electrical power into battery charger, if available. In addition Sunny IQ will adopt load-management according to time-of-use electricity tariff to reduce your overall electricity costs.
